Our Family.

Twin Oaks is family owned and operated. Barbara and Hal Elman, their daughter Jenni Davis and Beverly Hoffman are there to create the warm and loving atmosphere that parents have grown to expect of the Twin Oaks experience.

Each family member has obtained masters degrees in education and has worked diligently to create a progressive curriculum for their preschoolers. They take pride in personally training their staff in the Twin Oaks way as well as offering curriculum development sessions for their staff by professionals in all areas of child development.

Jenni Davis along with the principal of the school, Carin Stone offer one on one attention at the enrollment interview process. They both pay particular attention to the individual needs of each student and areas of concern are addressed in a timely fashion.

After 31 years of experience, Barbara, Beverly, Jenni and Carin have become experts in the field of pre-school education. The three are known and respected by the administrators and staff of the feeder elementary schools their students attend.

As one parent said so aptly, “Sending your child to Twin Oaks is like sending them to Grandma and Grandpa’s house”.

Come visit us in person, the cookies and milk are on the table waiting for you.

In January of 1975, the Elman and Hoffman families purchased a Day Camp and developed it into a fantasy playland for children. In September 1975, their dream grew when they added a Pre-School in which a creative environment would encourage academic growth in young children. Their dream became a reality when Twin Oaks was born. The programs and facilities at Twin Oaks are licensed and accredited by the following: N.Y.S. Education Department, Office of Children and Family Services, Long Island Association of Private Schools and Day Camps, American Camping Association, N.Y.S. Board of Health.
